Description: The New York State Trauma Champions Collaborative (TCC) was convened in 2019 to begin building statewide capacity and structures that support state and local government and professional agencies in integrating a trauma-informed approach into all aspects of their work. The initial collaborative was a multi-month learning process facilitated by the University at Buffalo (UB) Institute of Trauma and Trauma-Informed Care (ITTIC). Upon completion of the learning process in September 2019, the TCC began developing strategies to put its collective knowledge into practice and has invited additional professionals and agencies to participate. The TCC currently consists of 33 “champions” from 14 agencies.
Resources to support state and local government and professional agencies in this effort have been compiled by TCC members through work groups in the following categories: Training and Technical Assistance Resources; Vicarious Trauma Resources; Policies and Procedures; Organizational Considerations; Race Equity and Inclusion Terms and Definitions.
