The Breath-Body-Mind Information Session, led by Dr. Patricia Gerbarg and Dr. Richard Brown, provided information about simple, but powerful breathing exercises that quickly reduce stress and increase resilience. Dr. Gerbarg discusses the importance and effectiveness of breathing exercises for post-pandemic recovery, trauma, stress, fatigue, and mass disasters. Dr. Brown demonstrates different types of breathing exercises through guided breathwork.
The New York State Trauma Informed Network and Resource Center (NYS TINRC) which is funded by OMH, is partnering with the Breath-Body-MindTM Foundation to host free, virtual Breath-Body-MindTM (BBM) practice sessions and training for frontline staff, organizations, and communities throughout 2024.
