YWCA of Rochester & Monroe County is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. Our vision is for YWCA to be recognized as an influential leader in racial equity, housing and young adult services for women and families. Our mission and vision is achieved through our services, advocacy and education. We will get up and do the work until injustice is rooted out, until institutions are transformed, until the world sees women and girls, and people of color the way we do: Equal. Powerful. Unstoppable.
For 140 years, YWCA has been a leader in providing essential services for vulnerable and at-risk women and families in need, going above and beyond traditional service delivery models. A majority of our service recipients live in extreme poverty, are people of color and have experienced significant systemic barriers that prevent a quality of life. Recognizing the value of collective impact, we provide racial equity, housing and young adult services programming that aligns with community priorities.
