The NYS TINRC is committed to fostering a community built on respect, inclusivity, and trauma-informed practices. Whether an attendee, presenter, facilitator, panelist, speaker, or staff person, we all play an essential role in upholding these values.

  1. Active Listening: We seek to listen for understanding, even when listening to different perspectives.
  2. Compassion and Kindness: We treat each other with empathy, mutual support, and understanding.
  3. Embrace Discomfort and Growth: We acknowledge that learning and growth often come through discomfort. We lean into challenging conversations with openness and curiosity.
  4. Honor Silence and Reflection: Courage also means pausing. We honor and give time for processing, especially after heavy or emotional topics.
  5. Respect and Inclusivity: We welcome and support all individuals, regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, or background.
