Burning Bright Beyond the Call: Caring for the Human Behind the Role

June 12 @ 8:30 am - 3:00 pm

Free

Those who dedicate their lives to serving others often do so at great personal cost. Human service professionals, law enforcement, healthcare workers, first responders, and others in the helping professions face extraordinary emotional demands that can lead to burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma.

Burning Bright Beyond the Call: Caring for the Human Behind the Role is a free, day‑long symposium designed to honor your work while focusing on you—the person behind the title. This event will provide space for reflection, connection, and practical strategies to support well‑being, resilience, and sustainable service.

Through engaging presentations and shared dialogue, participants will explore:

  • Identity outside the job
  • Compassion fatigue vs. compassion satisfaction
  • Emotional PPE—tools for protecting mental health
  • Whole‑person wellness (physical, psychological, social)

Whether you are on the front lines or supporting those who are, this symposium offers an opportunity to pause, learn, and renew.

This event is free to attend, and lunch is included.

All helping professionals are welcome.

Because caring for others begins with caring for yourself.
