Positive Connections: A Pathway to Nurture Belonging, Healing, and Community

The Care Compass Regional Trauma-Informed Care (RTIC) team is excited to announce our 5th Annual Partnering for a Resilient Community Learning Symposium will be held at Tioga Downs on October 30th, 2024.

Our RTIC commitment for 2024 and beyond is to advance and promote “Positive Connections: A Pathway to Nurture Belonging, Healing, and Community”. Working to alleviate social isolation and loneliness by improving positive social connections aligns and supports our Care Compass Regional Trauma-Informed Care (RTIC) team’s vision of building a resilient community. One that is built upon strong partnerships, trust, and compassion.

One of the many lessons learned as we climb out of the 2020 pandemic spiral was the recognition and value of relationships, positive connections, and interactions. It does matter especially with our overall growth, health, and wellbeing. So much so that Dr. Vivek Murthy, U.S. Surgeon General, has called for all of us to put our energy and resources on the epidemic of loneliness and isolation in his Surgeon General’s Advisory on Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation report.

Our team is honored to partner with Al Condeluci, PhD as our keynote and workshop presenter for the day! Dr. Condeluci is a former CEO of CLASS and a faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and the School of Social work. He has authored 7 books, including the acclaimed Interdependence, The Route to Community (1991), and most recently The Macro Change Handbook (2015). Dr. Condeluci will be leading our interactive workshops on Addressing Loneliness and Social Isolation: The Key to a Better Life and The Power and Potency of Social Capital.

Mark your calendar and join us on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024, at Tioga Downs in Nichols, NY for a day of interactive workshops, activities, and panel discussions to foster and leverage positive connections and provide a pathway to nurture belonging, healing, and community.

Registration link coming soon! Open and free to all.  Continental Breakfast/Boxed Lunches will be served.

For those seeking SW/CTLEs continuing Education Credits, there is a fee of $50 for 5.5 total CEs offered in collaboration with Binghamton University.
